Man City found guilty of 114 charges; club to appeal

PLPremier League·Oct 2026·4 min read↗ Share

During the October international break the Premier League confirmed Manchester City were found guilty of 114 charges relating to financial regulations between 2009 and 2018. City, who lead the table with seven wins from seven, are appealing the verdict.

The numbers frame it: Manchester City have 21 points from 7 matches, with 19 scored and 7 conceded, sitting 1st after Matchweek 7.

What happens next is the interesting part. Supporters will want to see whether this becomes a pattern or a footnote, and the next fixture is the first real test of that.

As ever, the conversation continues in the supporters room, where the mood after full time tends to be a better barometer than any table.

“The table never lies, but it does not tell the whole story either.”
